Original PENCIL DRAWING for Arkham House Prince Zaleski

Original PENCIL DRAWING for Arkham House Prince Zaleski - eBay (item 310060669294 end time Jun-24-08 20:01:57 PDT)

This original pencil drawing by Joe Wehrle, Jr. is a version of the art used for the cover of the Arkham House book Prince Zaleski and Cummings King Monk by M.P. Shiel, published in 1977.

Strangely enough, the artist posed for both characters on the cover, changing clothes and the way he combed his hair to make them starkly different. We are enclosing copies of the model photos with this original pencil drawing.

The pencil drawing is only initialed, but the artist is willing to add a complete inked signature either on the front or the back of the drawing, whatever you choose.

Vintage MILITARY CARGO PANTS 34/32 Made in W. Germany!

Vintage MILITARY CARGO PANTS 34/32 Made in W. Germany! - eBay (item 310060646623 end time Jun-24-08 18:31:34 PDT)

This pair of military pants with cargo pockets has two labels inside: a cotton one sewed to the front pocket says, "K. Begemann." The satiny one says, "Made in W. Germany. 85% Wool 15% Polyester" and shows care symbols for Do not wash, Do not bleach, Iron, and one with a P in a circle (dry clean in Perc?).

I know these are old because West Germany dissolved in the early nineties. I don't know if they were for an American or German soldier or what. Do you know? Clue me in, please.

They're well-made with a button fly, button-down pocket flaps, snaps in the leg hems. The waist has tabs and buttons so you can make the pants up to four inches tighter. Are the tabs and buttons inside the waistband for the same purpose? There are snaps in the leg hems to cinch them smaller.

The color is a tan/green/rust blend that's not as dark as the dark photos or as light as the light photos. Some of the buttons are brown, others green. None missing!

I made no attempt to get them drycleaned, so I don't know if the stains will come out. I didn't resew the seat seam or repair the three three-corner tears, but they'd be easy for any tailor. I should know. I am one. I left them alone in case you'd want the tears rewoven for complete invisibility.

Antique F.E. MYERS & BRO HAND PUMP 648, Pat. 1895, Air!

Antique F.E. MYERS & BRO HAND PUMP 648, Pat. 1895, Air! - eBay (item 310060116478 end time Jun-22-08 20:02:03 PDT)

This antique hand pump is marked, "F.E. Myers & Bro, Ashland, O." There's a "648" and "1850" on it, and "Patent Mar. 19, '95, something illegible, Nov. 9, '95." We're guessing it's an old air pump. If you know better, please let us know.

It has a metal foot rest and cut-out fancy work on the metal brace and handle. I've shown photos of the pump handle raised and down. The old rubber hose is so brittle pieces of rubber are falling off the inner fabric.

Do you think there was a needle valve in the end of the hose for pumping up old-time footballs? It's a fabulous piece of history and might look just great cleaned up a bit or restored to service. I forgot to photograph the patent numbers at the base.

Vintage JIM BEAM BINOCULARS 1997 Whiskey Free Premium! - eBay (item 310057875308 end time Jun-14-08 20:55:03 PDT)

These vintage Jim Beam binoculars were a premium that came free with purchase of whiskey back in 1997. The box says, "Zero In On The Action. Jim Beam Binoculars* (*With purchase of Jim Beam.). Jim Beam, Get In The Game. Make responsibility part of your enjoyment." Small print: "Jim Beam® Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 40% Alc./Vol. ©1997 James B. Beam Distilling Co., Clermont, K.Y. JB97093B 43-JB40."

The box still has the hang tag that attached it to the neck of the whiskey bottle. The graphics on the box looks like football pigskin so these were meant for use at football games. They're a unique Jim Beam advertising item.

The black plastic binoculars have a sticker that says, "Made in China." They have a black cord wrist strap attached with a metal clip. You can adjust the focus with a plastic wheel midway between the lenses.

Vintage Wooden DRUEKE CRIBBAGE BOARD No. 18, Metal Pegs - eBay (item 310057569650 end time Jun-13-08 17:45:29 PDT)

This vintage cribbage board is marked in gold lettering on the back, "No. 18 Drueke, Grand Rapids, Mich." It comes in the original plain pasteboard box with a game called Low Cut word-I-can't-read handwritten on it. The original instructions are taped and tattered. Someone includes a typed instruction sheet for Solitaire Cribbage.

The wooden board has four arrows scratched in to show direction of play. On the back is a sliding brass lid closing a compartment that holds six metal playing pegs. They have patina which verifies the age of the game along with the tattered instructions.
