Vintage SANTA, MRS. CLAUS ON SKIS SHAKERS Made in Japan - (eBay item 310000994856 end time Nov-28-07 20:14:50 PST)

This salt and pepper shakers set is Santa and Mrs. Claus on skis. Why they're on skis, I don't know. Each has a sticker on the bottom that says, "Made in Japan."

Made of ceramic, they measure over three inches high. She has two holes in her head, he has three. They have little clear plastic stoppers in the bottom.

Vintage LARGE WOOD DRAFTING COMPASS 16-Inch Legs, Draws - (eBay item 310000985975 end time Nov-28-07 19:26:47 PST)

This outsized old compass can make huge circles for you. The legs measure sixteen inches long and will spread out to any angle, including almost straight and still draw circles.

The knob and one point and a band above the pencil are metal that might have been gold in color at one time. The wood has been stained black. We installed a new pencil.

Vintage FIDDLESTIX Game Pick Up Sticks Tube, Directions - (eBay item 310000742955 end time Nov-27-07 21:23:19 PST)

Vintage FIDDLESTIX Game Pick Up Sticks Tube, Directions - (eBay item 310000742955 end time Nov-27-07 21:23:19 PST)

This old game of pick up sticks says, "Let's Play Fiddlestix, an Exciting, Fascinating, Tantalizing Game. Plaza Mfg., Co., New York, N.Y. Made in U.S.A." I see no date, but to me the graphics suggest this game came out in the forties at the latest.

The original direction sheet is inside and gives the values of the different color sticks. There are supposed to be ten maroon (they look red to me) sticks, but there are only five. The sticks look somewhat soiled where they're unpainted.

The back shows the techniques for picking up sticks. Did you know you can use the lone purple stick as a tool to remove others? I guess I never had directions for this game in my life.
