This vintage 1931 Rolls Royce Phantom II solid state AM transistor radio was made in Hong Kong. It comes complete with the original box decorated with photo graphics of the car, the Styrofoam packing pieces and the instruction sheet.
The radio takes one 9-volt battery that fits into a compartment where the rear axle should go. The driver's side spare wheel is the channel selector control. The passenger's side spare wheel is the on/off and volume control. The speaker is on the underside of the car.
I don't know when this Rolls Royce car model radio was manufactured. The finish has patina and the lights are loose and have shifted out of position. They move around as if somewhat rubbery.
When I put a battery in as a test I learned that the radio works as well as any AM radio works in my valley home. I'm limited in the stations I can pick up here.
