This wooden book is a cigar box from the 1930s marked, "The Sweetest Story Ever Told" on the lid and it has a monogram design, "ERD." It's made of cedar wood with brass hinges and closure.

It could be a nice place to stow your Bible or other valuable treasures. How about using it for the family money box?
The lid of the box could use a bit of polish. The "page edges" are gold paint, I think, and have many marks. The hinges and latch work fine and the box is sturdy and solid as the day it was made way back when.
