This carved wood statuette shows a South American gaucho in dark wood holding light-colored bolas or boleadorus. His costume is detailed and authentic with a hat, kerchief, belt (tirador), shirt, loose-fitting trousers (bombachas), chiripá and boots.
He stands about seven inches high. A nail extending from his right foot extends into the wooden base. The bolas is cord and cork.
