This vintage cast iron bank is a five-inch tall balding black manservant dressed in very old-fashioned red coat, white high-collar shirt, yellow pants, yellow tie, and black shoes. He's holding a top hat. I see no maker's mark.
He's a still bank missing a significant amount of finish. The screw holding the front and back halves together has a slot head. I tried to open it in search of a maker's mark, but it didn't budge and I didn't want to force it.
There's no money in it now. The slot is a scant inch wide and won't accept a quarter. Was this bank made before quarters were common change in a kid's pocket?
