Vintage GRISWOLD LID 2958 Cast Iron Cookware, Erie PA! - eBay (item 310061685119 end time Jun-28-08 20:23:23 PDT)
This old Griswold cast iron lid is marked, "Griswold, Erie, PA. Pat. 1,554,360. 2598." It perfectly fits a number 8 Griswold skillet which is 10" across and has two pouring lips.
The white stuff turns out to be grease and will scratch off with a fingernail, so this lid just needs a good cleaning to go back into service.
