This vintage hard cover book Deep Waters was written by William Hope Hodgson, noted for horror stories of the sea. This 1967 Arkham House edition with original dust jacket was limited to 2500 copies. The copy you see here is in excellent shape with a little page edge darkening. The jacket has been in clear plastic since we bought this book new 42 years ago.

This vintage Arkham House original art by Joe Wehrle, Jr. was the frontispiece for The Princess of All Lands by Russell Kirk, published in 1978. Joe hand-drew the lettering and taped it to the original which is drawn on one-ply 100% linen rag Strathmore board. The publishers slathered rubber cement on it and affixed the Arkham House logo and title. The red handwriting notations are for the printer. The original is affixed to a heavier piece of chipboard to keep it from wrinkling.

Joe Wehrle, Jr. is noted for work in Galaxy and IF digest science fiction magazines, covers and interior illustrations in Arkham House and Mirage Press books, illustrations for Burroughs-oriented journals and on a lighter note, the story and drawings in the Big Little Book Cauliflower Catnip.

This vintage Arkham House original cover art by Joe Wehrle, Jr. was the cover for The Princess of All Lands by Russell Kirk, published in 1978. Along with the cover are two color overlays for printing in black and white and two colors. The register marks in two corners helped the printer align all three printing plates. All the lettering is hand-drawn, not machine made.

Keller, published in 1952 for Arkham House by Pellegrini & Cudahy. This isn't one of those little black volumes bound in Holliston Black Novelex as we're used to seeing from Arkham House.

Tales From Underwood is a cornerstone collection, representing both the best of Dr. Keller's shorter work, and an adequate cross-section of that work. Dr. Keller spent many years in the U.S. Army as a psychiatrist.

The interior pages are in wonderful condition. The cloth cover is in very nice condition except that a small piece was scraped off the top corner. The jacket is very good with a couple weak areas reinforced inside with the same kind of cover stock, and the same scraped corner replaced. There is age discoloration on the end papers.

This original pencil drawing by Joe Wehrle, Jr. is a version of the art used for the cover of the Arkham House book Prince Zaleski and Cummings King Monk by M.P. Shiel, published in 1977.

Strangely enough, the artist posed for both characters on the cover, changing clothes and the way he combed his hair to make them starkly different. We are enclosing copies of the model photos with this original pencil drawing.

The pencil drawing is only initialed, but the artist is willing to add a complete inked signature either on the front or the back of the drawing, whatever you choose.
