Vintage Victorian Courting Couple SCOURING PAD HOLDER! - eBay (item 310049651936 end time May-15-08 20:14:49 PDT)
This vintage ceramic Victorian couple decorate a scouring pad holder. The bottom is both embossed and stamped, "Made in Japan."
The back has an opening for the pad and the bottom has an opening to allow it to drain. The pad hides out of sight behind the courting couple.
Is it just me or does she look a bit alarmed at the lute playing? Actually they're both looking at something else, almost like they've been discovered courting.
