This antique cast iron candle or candle lantern bracket is very ornate and eye-catching. It would swing in a half circle away from the wall. I see no maker's mark.
The round support for the candle unscrews from the support arm. You could put a wide glass chimney or fancy globe over the candle flame and the candle could still burn by breathing through the bottom holes.
Otherwise, just plunk a big fat candle there and enjoy.
