Vintage Alum. Fairgrove Automatic DONUT MAKER, Orig Box! - eBay (item 310043600922 end time Apr-28-08 18:07:48 PDT)
This 1970's donut maker is an aluminum batter dispenser still in the plastic sleeve and original box with vintage graphics. The only thing missing is the recipe booklet. The dispenser itself is marked, "Taiwan."
The box is marked, "Fairgrove Automatic Donut Maker...also for pancakes. Made of heavy gauge, bright anodized pure aluminum." One end says, "Automatic Donut Maker and dispenser for Waffles 'n Pancakes. No pouring, No drippy mess, Donut maker keeps batter of uniform consistency. Prevents air drying so batter won't thicken. So Easy To Clean!" The other end tells how to clean it after use. "Another Fairgrove Product, Copyright A.H.C. 1971."
The dispenser seems like new. The stopper disk had a tendency to shift to one side when I depressed the plunger for photographing. When I took it apart and reassembled, it worked straight and true.
The original box with great vintage graphics is in good condition, still sturdy but taped, crunched and lightly soiled. It claims there's a recipe booklet, but that's missing.

Red-Printed Half Pint Schneider's Dairy MILK BOTTLE! - eBay (item 310043323517 end time Apr-27-08 19:37:32 PDT) This vintage half-pint clear glass milk bottle has red printed lettering on one side saying, "Schneider's Dairy, TU-1-3525" and on the other side, "Try Our Homogenized Milk. It's Delicious!" At the bottom, embossed lettering says, "Reg. Sealed (Keystone mark) D, Half Pint Liquid." The bottom is marked, "25" and "64."
This milk bottle is in great condition. The wide mouth of this solid bottle is smooth, no chips, no cracks. There's a tiny notch in the bottom ridge, but I don't think it's a chip, just a bubble or rough spot that occurred in manufacture.

1914 Embossed Glass Pint MILK BOTTLE 'Bottle of Health' - eBay (item 310043016627 end time Apr-26-08 20:37:33 PDT) This vintage one pint clear glass milk bottle has embossed lettering on the front saying, "A Bottle of Milk is a Bottle of Health." There's a symbol that looks like a big T with M on the left and C on the right. At the bottom back it's marked, "Sealed 1-11-14, One Pint Liquid." The bottom is marked, "S," "L," and "35."
The wide mouth of this solid bottle has two tiny chips down inside and a bigger but still small chip or rough spot on the top rim.
The bottle has minor wear. There's an odd dull squiggle on the back (like someone tried out a Dremel?) and a thin chafed line on the shoulder near a bit of dark green paint. There's a small chip in the bottom ridge.

Green Glass Quart Fruit Canning MASON JAR Pat 1858, Lid - eBay (item 310043008744 end time Apr-26-08 19:53:55 PDT) This vintage one quart green glass canning jar has embossed lettering on the front saying, "Mason's Patent Nov. 30th 1858." The glass-lined zinc lid is marked, "Ball" on the top and the glass lining is marked, "Genuine Zinc Cap For Ball Mason."
The particular jar has lots of character. The old glass has wrinkles, ripples and air bubbles typical in the manufacturing process back then. This one features a really big air bubble on the bottom edge. It's surprising the jar has stayed whole all these years with such a possibly weak place.
The inner edge of the mouth feels a little sharp partway around. When you look close and hold the jar just right, you can see minor chipping and a horizontal hairline crack.
The zinc lid has some minor discoloring or patina inside and out and a few small dents you can detect by feel better than sight. The glass lining is in excellent condition.

Old LEWES DAIRY MILK BOTTLE Printed Gallon Glass Jug! - eBay (item 310042767335 end time Apr-25-08 21:25:42 PDT)
This vintage one gallon glass milk bottle or jug with a bail handle is printed in red with a cow's face and the words, "Lewes Dairy, Inc., Buy It by the Gallon." Embossed around the base are the words, "Registered Sealed B" and "One Gallon Liquid M432." In the texture on the bottom it says, "E 67." The metal rim around the neck is embossed, "D2 Pat. Appld. Haynes, Cleve, O."
The cow is a happy cow with a cowbell with LD on it. The vintage glass has two small bubbles in it, typical of old glass. There are seams down the sides. I washed it as you can see by a photographed water droplet inside, but the bottle could use a better cleaning.
This jug is in great condition. There is minor wear in the form of light scratches and scuffs in the glass, particularly around the shoulders and an inch or so above the base. The rim at the base has more wear in the form of heavy scuffing. The mouth is excellent, no chips, no cracks. The red printing is excellent, no scratches or scuffs. The bail handle has bits of rust or patina.

8 Van Heusen VINTAGE SHIRT COLLARS New in Box 15 1/4! - eBay (item 310042060970 end time Apr-23-08 19:32:12 PDT) These eight men's vintage shirt collars are still in their packets and original box marked, "Van Heusen, The World's Smartest Collar, Van Reed, One Dozen 15 1/4, Phillips-Jones, N.Y."
The back of the collars are marked, "Van Heusen, Patent 2,393,829 U.S.A. Phillips-Jones. Van Reed, No Starch, Iron Flat While Damp, 15 1/4."
The packets backs says, "There's a Van Heusen Collar to flatter every type of face." Here are the Washing Instructions: As easy to launder as a handkerchief. Wash clean with any good laundry soap. Boil at least occasionally. Rinse thoroughly. Add necessary bluing. Dampen well before ironing. To iron, LAY COLLAR OUT FLAT. Iron first on wrong side, finishing on right side. Fold by hand, not with iron, along line of crease."
The packets are made of the sort of almost wax paper-like stuff you used to see in old cereal boxes, very crackly when you touch them. One packet is torn open from one end to the center front. Each packet holds two collars which are a bit age darkened.

White SEA SHELL PILL BOX 1x2-In Brass Purse Closure! - eBay (item 310041766824 end time Apr-22-08 19:45:00 PDT) This unique sea shell pill box is two deep halves with a hinged metal twist-open purse type closure. It has a lovely pearly white color with the natural shell ridges. The metal looks like brass.
The workmanship is good, with the metal parts solidly attached to the shell parts. There's no maker's mark. A line crossing the shell ridges is not a crack, but a natural part of the shell structure.
The shell pill box measures 2 inches long by over an inch wide and about 1 1/2 inches high when closed. It opens easily and closes tight.
