White Ceramic Cat in Sewing Basket w/ Yarn COOKIE JAR! - eBay (item 310047879972 end time May-11-08 21:19:42 PDT) Do you like cat cookie jars? This white kitten with yellow eyes is lounging in a woven sewing basket amidst a thimble, spool of thread, buttons and a ball of yarn. There's no maker's mark on this ceramic cookie jar.
The cat's head and front legs form the lid. It would be a good jar for smaller cookies as I'm not sure you could get your paws on a big cookie and get it out. The jar mouth is only about 2 1/2 by 3 inches.
The jar part came out of the mold with numerous tiny air bubbles and both parts have numerous minor chips, but this kitty cookie jar is still cute.
Brass Kneeling African Woman BOTTLE OPENER 4.5-Inches! - eBay (item 310047558947 end time May-10-08 17:41:24 PDT) This bottle opener is a kneeling African woman dressed in nothing but a high wire neck decoration, long skirt and upswept hairdo. She's sleek and has an attractive feline face.
She looks like a figurine, small and heavy, black and likely brass, just large enough to nicely fit your hand. There is no maker's mark. The opener of this African woman bottle opener is in the base.
Old Unused TINY CHARLEY PUNCHBOARD Cigarette Jackpot! - eBay (item 310047556343 end time May-10-08 17:25:35 PDT) This unused vintage punchboard says, "Tiny Charley, 66 Winners, Jackpot Pays 1500 Cigarettes, 500 Cigarettes, 100 Cigarettes. 25 cents per punch. Six numbers on each ticket."
The label on the back says, "Tiny Chas, Cigarette, Your Punch is Here. White, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Pink, Green. Op. Serial Size Color 3970 360 (scribbled initials), Made in U.S.A."
I'm unsure exactly how it works. I think it's made of cardboard or compressed paper, but it feels like a board. There are fourteen lines along each side which made me wonder if there are fourteen punchboards. I don't want to dig at it to see if it comes apart.
It was wrapped in a clear plastic bag for decades and had a sticker and black marker handwriting that left darker red on the faded punchboard front. The writing said, "11-15-98 $25.00."

Stringed Hollow Wooden DOOR CHIME Soft Musical Tones! - eBay (item 310047553796 end time May-10-08 17:08:33 PDT) Hang this hollow wooden stringed door chime on a door and it plays tones when the door moves. Three wooden hammers strike eight strings to make soft music when you open and close the door.
There is no maker's mark. It's very well made, varnished and attractive. Colored beads separate the hammers where they are hung at the top. This musical door chime hangs by by a keyhole opening on the back.
Vintage Philip Morris CIGARETTES HUMIDORPAC Tin Can! - eBay (item 310047551231 end time May-10-08 16:52:51 PDT) This vintage metal Philip Morris cigarettes can has an old-fashioned classy look in tobacco brown and gold. The lid says, "Philip Morris Humidorpac, 50 Cigarettes. Keep Lid Closed."
The front says, "Philip Morris & Co. Ltd. Incorporated. Established--Over 90 Years. Special London Selection. English Blend Cigarettes. Manufactured by Philip Morris & Co. Ltd. Inc., New York."
The back says, "Philip Morris & Co. Ltd. Inc. English Blend. These cigarettes are manufactured from a blend of the finest tobaccos obtainable. Guaranteed to be free from any deleterious flavoring. None genuine unless the initials of our firm PM&Co are printed on each cigarette."
One side says, Keep Cover Tightly Closed. By restoring the lid to original tightness by firm finger pressure each time opened, factory freshness of cigarettes may be preserved indefinitely." The other side has fine print and "Factory No. 7 District of VA., Made in U.S.A."
It doesn't smell much like cigarettes inside, more like old dresser drawers. I don't know exactly how old it is except it came out 90 years after Philip Morris & Company was founded.
Vintage Round Wooden ORBROS BAROMETER Made in Germany! - eBay (item 310047321486 end time May-09-08 19:58:39 PDT) This Orbros barometer was made in Germany. It has a round wooden frame, a metal hanging loop and a dial with fancy lettering. Numbers fill the border. The words, "Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, Very Dry" fill the inner dial. You can see the inner workings through a window at the center.
The back plate is metal with three large and three small screws. It hangs on a wall by a round metal loop. The varnish of this vintage Orbros barometer is crackled.
1942 BULLETMAN #11 Mighty Midget Comic Fawcett 4X5-Inch - eBay (item 310047312100 end time May-09-08 19:02:45 PDT) This little Mighty Midget comic features Bulletman the Flying Detective. This and the other titles in this series were ALL marked #11. The cover says, "34 Action-Filled Pages Featuring--Bulletman and Bulletgirl!" It's a Fawcett Publication published in 1942.
The Mac Raboy cover shows a tiny logo on the bottom right with a shield and the words, "Be An American." The back cover is plain except for the image of a stamp that says, "For Victory. Buy United States War Bonds and Stamps."
The centerfold (see third picture) was missing from this copy, but we have scanned one from another copy and printed it out back-to-back like the original on similar aged pulpy paper.
About half the pages are black and white, the other half black and white and red. It's a nice solid copy.
